Tom + Mat Attack

TMA 166 – Full of Wonder

On this week’s TMA, Tom has finally done it! He’s finally got a full set on Retro Collect… If only it were the N64! It is of course, the Pokemon Mini! He talks us through that, Japanese N64 games and Super Famicom Fighting Games! Mat has perhaps unsurprisingly been playing a new Yakuza game (3) and gives us his feelings on how the ‘Year of Yakuza’ is going, before the boys get completely side tracked by discussions about film…

TMA 165 – Fun ‘n’ Games!

On yet another episode of Tom and Mat Attack, the boys do a little reflecting on the state of games. Mat’s Year of Yakuza brings him from 2 to Kenzan, a Japanese only release set in Edo Period of Japan’s history. The game has some questionable content by Western Standards that the boys pick apart and fan boy over Takeshi Kitano movies. Tom then has dabbled in some more N64 pick ups, that made him reflect over the purity of games that is becoming lost in an age of visceral experiences… Just to keep it light though, Mat’s been raiding in Pokemon Go and making some crazy money in Crazy Taxi Gazillionaire! What fun!

Tom and Mat Attack 161 – Merlot Trapezoids

On this week’s TMA, we cram all of our collective energy into for May into one podcast! There’s talk of chairs, games and a whole lot more besides! Mat’s been playing some Switch with titles like Tumbleseed and Kamiko, while Tom’s been playing old favourites like Need for Speed Undercover on the Wii, Ghost Rider on the PS2 and is still disappointed by Battlefront on the PS4… What a time to be alive!

Tom and Mat Attack 160 – Twisted Metal Underwater

On this week’s TMA, Tom has been back to Horsens and netting himself some titles like NFL BLITZ THE LEAGUE 2 (all caps), Critical Depth and Pitfall: The Lost Expedition Besides that, he’s been playing some Another World  Little Nightmares and falling out of love with Yooka Laylee. Mat’s still knee deep in Persona 5, but took some time out to walk around the world of What Remains of Edith Finch. It’s a good un!

Tom + Mat Attack 158 – 1, 2, Switch It Off

On this week’s TMA, the boys have been playing a plethora of gaming delights! Mat’s up to his elbows in Persona, so Tom’s had to get his beak wet with the likes of Mighty No. 9! The boys finally play 1, 2 Switch and are left wanting… Fortunately, not for too long as they then played Puyo Puyo Tetris! A brief discussion about the Vita library, the questionable nature of wanting a full set and the latest Nintendo Direct make it a long podcast, but hopefully you’ll agree, a good one!

Tom + Mat Attack 156 – 2B or not to be?

Well, we’ll just let that title sit there shall we? On this week’s TMA, the boys have slowed down on their gaming consumption. Tom’s been dabbling in a little bit of Candleman, WW2K15 and a little bit of Halo. Mat’s a little tired and so babbles about NieR, Mass Effect Andromeda and The Splatoon 2 Global Test Fire. Asides from that, the boys discuss their Dreamcast hit lists, the state of competitive gaming, the tale of Gopher Boy and how they apparently have nothing to talk about…

Tom + Mat Attack 155 – NieRest and Dearest

That’s the thing about the greatest games of this generation, they’ve often been brewing since the PS2! On this week’s TMA, Tom and Mat have both been playing some NieR, in Tom’s case, it’s NieR:Automata, while Mat dug up his 360 copy of the original NieR and took it for a walk around… In both cases, after taking that right turn at Drakkangard, both agree that the series is a good ‘un! After a brief discussion on the state of Japanese Games and Platinum as a studio, the boys crack out some more Zelda talk, before scrapping the bottom of the barrel with Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don’t Know and Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion!

Tom + Mat Attack 154 – Paper Based Murder

On yet another Switch-Focused TMA, Mat’s been playing the 3 games that if you own a Nintendo Switch, you need in your life… Namely Super Bomberman R (meh), Snipper Clippers: Cut It Out, Together (yay!) and The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild (Oh Mama!). Tom has been upto some things between lowering the tone of the podcast, namely playing games like ADK Damashii on the PS4, as well as getting some on sale bargains in the likes of Dead Rising HD and Pacman Championship Edition 2!

Tom + Mat Attack 153 – Feelin’ Nintendo-ey

On this week’s TMA, the boys are both feeling ‘Nintendo-ey’ to use Tom Parry’s exact words. He’s been playing some Epic Mickey on the Wii, as well as almost beating Star Fox Zero, which he thinks isn’t all too shabby! Mat on the other hand, despite being down with the sickness, has been lost in the world of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda” Breath of the Wild, as well as playing a little Super Bomberman R on his new, shiny Nintendo Switch… He tries to talk about it but the man flu wins out and hilarity ensues…

Tom + Mat Attack 152 – Squeezin’ Yakuza

You wouldn’t guess it from the title, but Mat only went and beat Yakuza? By jobe! He also played some Rez and might go out of his way to attempt to prove the PS2’s status as the greatest console of it’s generation. All the while, Tom’s been playing some (dare we say it…?) Hidden Gems on the system, not to mention losing sleep over the state of movie-licensed games and the Nintendo Switch…

Tom + Mat Attack 151 – Amazing!

ON this week’s TMA, the boys have been sampling more retro gaming delights! While Mat has been chomping at the bit of the PS2 game known as Yakuza, he’s come to some very controversial opinions about it and Shenmue. Tom however has been simply playing all the super hero Wii games under the sun. Some of them are genuinely amazing, like Wayforward’s Batman: The Brave and The Bold, others, like The Amazing Spiderman… Well, just listen and find out!

Tom on the other hand has been playing The Last Guardian (you’d never guess, but it’s supposedly very good) as well as Turok (erm) and a whole lot else besides! What?
