Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath returns in HD

The bounty hunter returns, he is known as the Stranger, moolah is on his mind.

The original Stranger's Wrath was released on the XBOX in 2005; but the first Oddworld game appeared back on the Playstation One with Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee. Just Add Water have taken on the challenge of bringing the Oddworld back to life and onto the current generation of consoles.

This is not just a HD re-mastered version of the game. The game runs at a very smooth 720p, running 60 frames per second. Enhanced character models and world textures make for outstanding views. Missed out the first time? Or just fancy revisiting the Oddworld, the team at Just Add Water have done an extraordinary job re-delivering the moments we all love so much, whilst enhancing the graphics to a breathtaking standard.

Stranger's Wrath is a mixture of platform and first person shooter gameplay where you play as 'Stranger', a bounty hunter who loves his job or maybe it's the moolah (in-game money) that you'll earn from completing the bounties that fuels his passion.

You're not alone whilst out doing a hard days work, you have your trusty crossbow that carries live ammo. You can pick up these little creatures when heading out and preparing for the next bounty. Two creatures can be armed at the same time on the crossbow, each with their own abilities, so thinking on the fly about what's best to use in a situation is vital. One of the creatures may lure your enemy to a specific location while another may wrap them up in a spiders web, making them easy prey.

Strategy is key when you want to become the best bounty hunter around, charging in and hitting your foes won't always give you the best results, stealth and surprise tactics will be needed. Keeping your enemy alive when you capture them will also give you more 'moolah', so its best to keep that in mind.

It's not all about running and gunning... Stranger's Wrath also has platforming sections and puzzles to complete, you'll always want to see whats around the corner, so it's best to learn how to use the crossbow to best effect.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD is available December 21 in Europe and Australia and will be released on December 27 in North America. It will retail for £9.99 and can be purchased and downloaded via the PSN to your Playstation 3 console.
